Wise as a Serpent, Harmless as a Dove
“Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” Matt 10:16 KJV
Jesus did not tell His followers to be gullible, He did not go around telling people all His problems. Christian love includes wisdom.
You can be courteous without revealing everything. You can forgive without restoring complete trust. You can keep your distance without becoming hostile.
Pray:
“Jesus, teach me Your wisdom. Show me when to speak and when to remain silent, when to trust and when to be cautious, when to draw near and when to establish distance. Keep me harmless in my actions while making me wise in my decisions. Amen.”
Christlike attitude:
Kindness does not require naivety.
