Guard Your Heart
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Prov 4:23 KJV
Protection begins inside you. Someone else’s behaviour does not have to determine whether you become angry, vindictive, fearful or consumed by the situation.
You can establish boundaries while keeping your heart clean.
Pray:
“Lord, guard my heart. Don’t allow hurt to become hatred or disappointment to become bitterness. Help me protect myself without becoming hard. Give me wisdom to establish appropriate boundaries while remaining loving. Amen.”
Christlike attitude:
I will protect my heart without poisoning it.
