A nation’s integrity collapses when criminal acts are met with leniency. The introduction of fake draconian hate speech laws in response to the Bondi terror attack is apparently the best our government can do to combat terrorism, antisemitism and un-Australian behaviors. Its refusal to act justly by enforcing already existing criminal laws is weak and enough to arouse suspicion. While I’m no free speech absolutist, pretending to care about the Jewish community and everyday Australians by regulating speech does nothing to prevent violence or terrorism, especially when new fake speech laws provide protections for religious rhetoric. This in itself contradicts the majority of reasons they’ve been introduced.

On the streets of Melbourne alone, anti-Australian groups continue with their daily micro terrorist attacks against our country and people with impunity. National historic monuments are being destroyed, synagogues are being graffitied and firebombed, and Australian flags are being burned. On Australia Day, multiple individuals were attacked simply for carrying the Australian Flag while authorities stood by and did nothing. Just recently, posters of the Bondi shooter labelled as “Aussie” have been mounted in various places across Sydney as a blatant attempt to jihadi members of the community. This is unacceptable and should be considered hate spew.

The government needs to take a stronger stance and enforce justice against anyone who demonstrates hatred for Australia and Australians through their actions, not just their words. The public does not need more speech regulation; we need real action. We need to see genuine justice. We need to see people incarcerated, deported, and borders secured. There is no point in policing speech if the state cannot genuinely protect people from actual violence. As a Christian, scripture is clear about both those who administer and adhere to the justice system,
“For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. ” (Rom 13:3-5)
Read that again, the justice system should be “an agent of wrath to wrongdoers”, meaning people should fear the rule of law. So why is it in Australia that anti-Australian criminals continue to get a free pass, while genuinely concerned Australians who dare call out the failures of government are being censored and penalised. Public servant Michaela Banerji lost her job after criticising government policy, and journalist Annika Smethurst was subjected to a federal police raid for reporting on government actions. Although Smethurst was not ultimately charged, the use of coercive legal powers against her reporting highlights the risks faced by those who scrutinise government policy and procedure.
The Australian government, for years now, have been importing a voter class to ensure it stays in power. Now there’s no real evidence to support this claim, but we need only look at the demographics of the electorates that those in power represent to know there must be some truth to what I’m writing. To give a few examples, according to data collected in the 2021 census, Blaxland, Watson, McMahon and Chifley in NSW and Calwell in Victoria have relatively high Muslim populations and Federal Labor Party representation. These statistics, coupled with a soft approach by supposed law enforcement officers against obvious violent detractors, are enough to raise some concerns.

There are multiple cases of Imams like Wissam Haddad, Taj El-Din Hilaly, Sheikh Ahmed Zoud, Sheikh Feiz Mohammad and Ismail al-Wahwah who are treated with leniency for preaching hate and intimidation while making threatening remarks against Jewish Australians and by extension, all Australians. Instead of being deported or arrested, they are simply made to apologise and/or pay court costs. Haddad, in a civil anti-discrimination judgment, the court ordered he “pay the applicant’s costs, remove the offending material, and refrain from similar activity.” Haddad’s lawyer maintains, “The words he spoke were those from the scripture, and he has the right to quote religious scripture, and the court has found he has that right.” (SBS News, 2025)
Will the new hate speech laws ensure people like Haddad are incarcerated or deported like alleged neo-Nazis, Matthew Gruter, and Jacob Hersant? Joel Davis has been remanded in custody awaiting trial for using communications to menace or incite hate. What is the difference between Nazi and Islamist hate speech? Why are they not held to the same legal standard?
Hate speech laws are a farce and a band-aid solution to a hemorrhaging limb. Australia is bleeding ungodly anti-Australians, and it needs amputating, not a band-aid. Policy responses should prioritise enforcement against criminal conduct — including violence, intimidation, incitement, vandalism, and damage to public property — rather than focusing primarily on expression. At this point, a 10-year halt on immigration is necessary, at least from those who hold opposing values to ours, and immediate deportation or incarceration of anyone who hates Australia, who calls for the destruction of its people, desecrates our flag, and vandalises our monuments.
There is no denying an inversion of justice in Australia exists, and there’s no way of telling whether we can recover. The March for Australia on Australia Day proved that many are concerned about the direction in which we are headed, but I wonder if it is too late. Many are jumping on the One Nation bandwagon, hoping Pauline Hanson can save Australia. Without calling for violence, I would hasten to say this is doubtful, and a people’s revolution is required. Without a true revolution, what are we facing as a nation? Fake draconian laws, a globalised face of Australia, one that is unrecognizable and one that is completely at the mercy of subversive jihadis who hate us and everything for which we stand.
This is no different to what the Jews faced in Christ’s time. As Christians, we don’t fear subversion, fake laws or jihadis. We know in Christ, we already have the victory. There is an eternal kingdom awaiting us. If people want to overcome this world, they truly need Jesus. No one else can save a people or a person, let alone Pauline. Just like everyone, she too needs Jesus. She can neither save herself, let alone Australia. It truly is heartbreaking.
“When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice, when the wicked rule, the people groan.” (Prov 29:2)
